Why this site exists

chronicfatigue.support was created by Jayden Stuckey to be a one-stop place for people with ME/CFS, and the people who care for them, to find clear, honest, current information. It covers what the illness is, what helps, what the research is showing, and which trials are looking for participants.

ME/CFS research is scattered across journals, conference talks, trial registries and patient forums. Much of it is written for specialists, and a lot of what reaches patients is hype. We try to bring it together in plain language and be upfront about how strong the evidence is.

How we write

  • Plain language first. Many readers have brain fog, so pages start with a short “In brief” summary, and headings let you jump to what you need.
  • Honest about evidence. Every treatment claim is labelled with the kind of study behind it (see below).
  • Negative results included. Knowing what didn’t work saves people time, money and energy.
  • Dated. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. Trial details were checked against official registries on the date shown.

Evidence labels

  • RCT Randomised, placebo-controlled trial
  • Controlled Has a comparison group but isn't fully randomised or blinded
  • Open-label No placebo group
  • Observational Observes patients without assigning treatment
  • Lab study Cells in a dish, not a clinical outcome
  • Adjacent field Evidence from Long COVID, POTS, fibromyalgia, etc.
  • Hypothesis Proposed, not yet tested
